First Ascent: May 29th 1953 by Sir Edmund Hillary, NZ and Tenzing Norgay, NP, via the South Col Route
First Solo Ascent: Aug. 20th 1980, Reinhold Messner, IT, via the NE Ridge to North Face
First Oxygenless Ascent: May 8, 1978- Reinhold Messner, IT, and Peter Habeler, AUT, via the South-East Ridge
Youngest person: According to the Nepalese government it is Ming Kipa Sherpa, a 15-year-old Sherpa girl
Oldest Person: 76-year-old Min Bahadur Sherchan, who did so 25 May 2008 from the Nepal side
Most Ascents: Apa Sherpa holds the record for reaching the summit more times than any other person (19 times as of May 2009).
Longest stay on top: Babu Chiri Sherpa stayed at the summit full 21 hours and a half
Air pressure: The summit of Everest has around 30% as much Oxygen as at sea level
Fatality: The number of deaths on Everest amounts to around 250
